Square : 130 m2
Client : Private
Year: 2021

Project task

The house is located in the Chekhov district of the Moscow region, and was designed for a young couple who love minimalism, conciseness and functionality. Customers really like Barnhouse's style. But it was decided to stop at a non-standard combination of two volumes - a black volume with a flat roof and a wooden one with a pitched roof.

The house is planned to be used as a cottage. The building is made in Finnish traditions due to its style and natural materials. One of the foundations of the project is working with space. Upon entering the house, we find ourselves in a spacious bright living room with a pitched ceiling. From the living room there are symmetrical entrances to different parts of the house - the guest room and the master's room. The house has two terraces: a summer terrace and a small one at the back of the house, on which a woodpile is provided.

Site

The site is located in a forest, the house is surrounded by tall spruce, birch, aspen. Going deeper into the site, we find ourselves in a cozy atmosphere: a lawn for games, a place where you can sit by the fire on sun loungers.

Facades

The concept of volume-spatial solution of the house is based on a combination of two contrasting volumes.

The black volume with a flat roof "cube" cuts into the classic volume with a pitched roof.

The facade on the side of the pitched roof of the Barnhouse is lined with pine planken, the black volume is finished with corrugated board. They contrast perfectly with each other, but fit perfectly into the area, overgrown with a large amount of forest vegetation.

The structural system is based on load-bearing walls made of ceramic blocks that do not require additional insulation.

The foundation is an insulated Swedish slab.
